Nando’s – Mobile app use case
The app reduce queue wait times by 15%, increased customer advocacy, began the mobile ordering system and organised global rollout

Nando’s is a well known South African fast-casual restaurant chain known for its Portuguese style flame grilled peri-peri chicken, which features a unique marinade made from the fiery African bird’s eye chilli, lemon, and garlic.
Our involvement
We worked with Nando’s on their first mobile app and helped them to be a leader in the early app space. We took their designs they had done for print magazines and their website and helped them realise this in their new mobile app that we built for iOS and Android.

What are the key results
- 15% reduction in queue times – With the mobile menu and notepad, queue times were reduced at busy times as users can easily get food orders from their friends to the till staff – reducing wastage and speeding up the throughput of diners
- Increased Customer Advocacy – With great social features like Chat Roulette, the app and it’s customers helped Nando’s stand out as a cool brand
- Mobile Ordering – Nando’s was a key front runner in the mobile ordering space. Users can order takeaways direct from the native mobile app. This was eventually folded into the Just Eat / Deliveroo experience
- Global Rollout – The app was rolled out globally, having to take into consideration a lot of local and national compliance standards (such as sugar tax, drinking laws etc.).
Pepsi / Benchmax – Compliance and Competency use case
Built an app to reach front line factory workers – tracking their compliance and competency levels, improving efficiency, productivity and quality

Benchmax is a competency, compliance and risk app targeted at the food and drink sector and used by thousands of Pepsi staff global.
The app provides Pepsi’s operations teams with insight into the performance of people, processes, and assets against standards across their organisation.
With self-assessment and verifier grading, Benchmax provides comparative scores against specific tasks. This helps to focus improvement drives for focused training or best practice enhancement.
Our involvement
We created a 24/7 training tool for from the ground up in the form of a mobile app for iOS and Android that would allow their user’s to work offline and remotely and sit alongside Benchmax’s existing web platform.
